There has been an increase in online social networking websites being cited in divorce cases. Our PR team wasted little time in flagging this up to the national press and securing some excellent coverage for the family-law team at Farleys Solicitors, which has seven offices across the North West. The Daily Telegraph ran a page three story on the subject, alongside a number of regional titles. It’s a story which will probably run and run. Could ‘e-affairs’ be a new expression?

When we heard that an OBE medal had been unearthed in the archives of one of its clients, Bolton Community College, it was straight on the hunt to find its owner. We linked up with a local historian to find out who the possible owner could be for their ‘services to education’. Freshfield negotiated an exclusive interview between the main regional daily (Bolton News) and College principal, inviting the owner or their family to come forward. Sadly, to this day, our mission to reunite the two continues.

Our new expanded Bottom Line – the magazine published on behalf of Lancashire’s Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants – is now complete. BL is a quarterly magazine that goes to over 7,000 organisations across the North. It helps showcase the very values clients demand; experience, intellectual excellence and best practice. The major feature of the publication is ‘In the Chair’ which has profiled the likes of John Timpson, Andrew Tinkler (Eddie Stobart), Steven Broomhead, Bryan Gray and Paul Heathcote.

The City of Manchester Stadium – home of Manchester City FC – has appointed Freshfield’s PR team to promote its hospitality, conference and events facilities. We’ve also been chosen by The Mall to promote its shopping centres in Preston and Blackburn while securing a PR contract with Preston College.

To mark the start of demolition at the Mall Blackburn, as part of its £66 million redevelopment programme, the Freshfield property team enlisted the help of BBC Radio Lancashire and North West Tonight presenter, Tony Livesey. Tony took the hot seat in an industrial muncher machine, reducing a section of the 1960’s shopping centre to rubble. He broadcast live on air from the site, kick-starting the intensive, 15-week demolition programme.

We have just put the finishing touches to a rebranding project for a business that provides high quality student accommodation in the Preston area. After testing a number of brand concepts with focus groups, we picked the newly created MyPlace brand. Once implemented, a website was designed and built within a tight timescale to enable it to be launched at a critical time in the academic calendar. On its launch, the website received a huge amount of enquiries which saw 92 per cent of its quality properties being fully let within a two week period.
