Welcome to in:brief, Napthens solicitors’ new magazine. The striking new A3 format includes a wide range of content with contributions from some of the region’s top businesses and movers and shakers. The first issue has some forthright views about where the economy is heading from Jonathan Diggines, Enterprise Ventures’ executive chairman and a special report on Blackburn and how it’s fairing in the recession. Issued three times a year, Freshfield’s design and editorial creation is already receiving glowing feedback from Napthens’ clients and contacts.

Curvaceous. Luscious. Flirtatious. Gorgeous. Leggy: Freshfield director Michael Gregory has been called lots of things in his PR career – and he can now officially add sexy networker to the list. Michael and Freshfield’s account director, Juliet Cort, became the first same-business pair to win Downtown Preston in Business’s infamous sexy networker award for the male and female categories, respectively.

The bottles of champagne were presented to the lovely pair at last night’s star-studded 2009 Lancashire Business Oscars at Stanley House Hotel, Mellor, in front of 150 guests.

And they celebrated in truly sexy style… by driving home sober due to work commitments the following day.

Freshfield helped the North West Aerospace Alliance achieve more than £18,000 worth (advertising value equivalent) of regional and trade print coverage to promote its presence at the Paris Air Show in June.  Our work also incorporated online strategies including the creation of a blog, www.nwaablog.com, which meant for the first time the NWAA was able to update stakeholders digitally on its activities throughout the week. Highlights included a visit by Government minister for trade and industry, Lord Mervyn Davies. In total, the press coverage achieved for the show was seen by a potential audience of more than 1.6 million readers.

21 Wythenshawe school children had to watch their P’s and Q’s this week when hospitality bosses at the City of Manchester Stadium gave them a lesson in etiquette and healthy eating as part of an education initiative.

The class of eleven-year-olds from Brookway High School participated in a morning of fun filled workshops covering everything from the importance of table manners to a balanced diet and food demonstrations from chef, John Benson-Smith. The day was rounded off with the ultimate challenge – laying a three course table setting in the least amount of time.

Freshfield’s leisure PR team played an instrumental part in getting the community relations initiative off the ground, while also securing a raft of coverage in regional and trade media.
