This is Katie Heaton, our new PR account executive.

Katie, from Chorley, joins Freshfield having recently completed a journalism degree at Liverpool John Moores University.

While at university,  Katie gained experience in PR working for Manchester-based agency Biss Lancaster, as well as spending time with Lancashire County Council’s communications team and working alongside the marketing team at Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park in Bolton.

Over 50 guests attended the launch of the Lancashire CIPR sub–group at ‘Pitch Perfect’, last night. Held at Preston’s Forum Bar, a great mix of in-house and agency PRs got the opportunity to speed network with the region’s media and find out the stories the make the grade or end up being spiked.

Thanks to the following journalists who came to the event and imparted their knowledge to the throng.

- BBC Radio Lancashire – station manager, John Clayton and news editor, Chris Rider
- ITV Granada – head of news, Richard Frediani
- Lancashire Evening Post – assistant features editor, David Upton
- Lancashire Business View – editor, Ben Briggs
- EN Magazine – editor, Stuart Anderson
- NW Business Insider – reporter, David Casey
- The BusinessDesk – editor, Chris Barry
- Freelance journalist – David Chadwick

This is our new work for respected Preston-based architects, Wood Associates. Part of a full rebrand, its new logo represents the firm’s architectural values of integration and innovation.

In addition to the logo, we have created a new suite of marketing collateral and a corporate style guide. Wood’s new website will be launched soon…

‘The Big Four’ is the new theme devised by Freshfield for the 2009 North West Chartered Accountants Annual Business and Accountancy Awards. Freshfield devised the title and branding, in addition to developing a suite of marketing materials. The finals take place on November 26 at Stanley House in Lancashire. Freshfield has been advising the NWSCA for five years.

Freshfield has been helping Lancashire-based national car leasing firm, UK Carline, to drive awareness of its CO2 offset initiative – the first of its kind in the UK.

The firm joined forces with carbon offset business, CO2 Balance, to offer carbon offset initiatives which will reduce its clients’ carbon emissions. £50,000 will be invested into the scheme each year, covering the whole fleet, including business and privately leases.

Freshfield was instructed on a project basis to bring the news to the attention of the firm’s key target media. One month on, UK Carline has benefited from prominent coverage with photography in every target fleet trade and business magazines, website and regional press title. 16 prestigious clients across the North of England have signed up to the scheme, with many more at enquiry stage.

The boxes are unpacked, the computers are live and we have all showered. After months of planning, Freshfield has moved.

We’re delighted to have found a terrific facility right in the heart of Winckley Square, a great place to work.

Our new office is almost double in size and it will allow us to enhance our team, service lines and ultimately give our clients and employees a better Freshfield.

We are in challenging times and it would have been an easy decision to hold off from making such an investment in a recession. But as a company, we are committed to improvement.

We must thank our clients for their ongoing support and the Freshfield team for their hard work in putting all this together.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Freshfield
