Our team is perfectly placed to deal with issues and communications programmes in the emerging energy sector. We hold specialist experience and knowledge of work in the nuclear sector and across the energy debate.
This includes running long-term programmes for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority for the decommissioning of Windscale, the UK’s lead nuclear decommissioning exercise. This included the full range of communications services from media relations, public affairs, web development, a suite of literature, internal communications and partnering across Europe with other decommissioning projects. Our lead consultant in this sector Paul Tustin won an Institute of Public Relations Excellence award for public affairs work at Windscale. He also handled the communications programme nationally and internationally around the 50th anniversary of Britain’s worst ever nuclear accident at Windscale.
Working with the Government’s National Nuclear Laboratory, he also devised a programme of media activity through national press and broadcast media and public affairs through MPs and parliamentary committees. This helped position the NNL as the lead organisation for the development of the necessary skills and technology as the UK equips itself for nuclear new build.
