We’re pleased to announce we’ve made another addition to our PR and content team with the appointment of Simone O’Kane.
Simone has more than 10 years’ experience in journalism and PR, including roles with the Lancashire Telegraph, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, and running her own independent PR business.
It’s our second hire in the PR and content team in recent weeks as Simone’s appointment closely follows Jacqueline Ballard’s appointment to the Freshfield team. Simone joins us as content marketing executive.
Our MD, Simon Turner, comments: “Simone has a broad range of skills from varied roles in journalism and time spent running her own business.
“Simone also has great technical knowledge when it comes to digital-led PR campaigns. She’s a great addition to the Freshfield team at a time where clients crave quality content generation and storytelling skills to support their campaigns.”
During her time at as a senior journalist at the Lancashire Telegraph, Simone worked in roles including digital journalist, feature writer and health reporter. She also gained experience working as a showbiz writer for Daily Mirror Online.
At the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, Simone worked with stakeholders to deliver successful campaigns including Be Scam Wise, a campaign aimed at keeping vulnerable and elderly people safe from scammers.
A bit more about Simone…
Simone is already competing with several other members of the team for most pronounced regional accent with her dulcet Darwen tones.
She claims her glossy hair and youthful complexion are the result of working in the greasy air of a local chippy when she was a teenager.
