Freshfield joins global body PRCA

Freshfield has joined the world’s largest professional PR body, the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA).

The PRCA represents more than 35,000 professionals from across the world, including the majority of the top 150 UK consultancies.

All PRCA members are bound by a professional charter and codes of conduct, and benefit from access to industry-leading training.

Freshfield’s chief executive, Simon Turner, said: “We have been really impressed with how PRCA has evolved in recent years and it feels the ideal development partner to help us grow the skills and knowledge of our people, benchmark our internal processes while aligning our thinking to the biggest PR and communications firms in the business.

“Playing an active role in PRCA is a sign to our clients and people that we are a professional business committed to the highest standards and ethics.

“We are particularly looking forward to taking the business through the PRCA’s Communications Management Standard (CMS) programme, which combines elements of ISO9001 and Investors in People with criteria specific to a PR and communications consultancy.”

Francis Ingham MPRCA, PRCA director general, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Freshfield’s award winning team to the PRCA. Our CMS accreditation is the benchmark for excellence in PR and it’s inspiring to see an increasing number of agencies and organisations strive for the recognition it offers. We look forward to supporting Simon and his team with their continued growth and professional development.”

PRCA represents more than 35,000 PR professionals in 70 countries worldwide and has offices in London, Singapore, Dubai, and Buenos Aires.

It drives professional standards in the UK and overseas through our Professional Charter and Code of Conduct. The Code compels members to adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice.

PRCA also manages the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), the umbrella body for 41 PR associations and 3,000 agencies across the world, and LG Comms – the UK’s national body for authorities raising standards of local government communication.
