Freshfield has been shortlisted for an award in the national Construction Marketing Awards for its work with global paint and coatings client Sherwin-Williams.

Freshfield and their client have been named in the category for best mid-range campaign for the programme in support of improving fire engineering safety called Steel Structures: No Compromise.

Working closely with Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings division – with its European headquarters in Bolton – Freshfield devised a national industry-wide initiative to raise the issue of fire engineering safety in new modern steel structures.

The programme of activity aims to improve best practice in fire safety engineering and how new steel structures are protected, and has won support from major industry groups including the Association of Specialist Fire Protection, the Fire & Rescue Service and Local Authority Building Control.

In support of the campaign, Freshfield also organised major events in London, generated numerous feature articles in national and international publications online and offline, white papers and produced dynamic video.

Nick Ball, regional marketing director for Sherwin-Williams Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted in such a competitive marketplace – we have a great campaign for a genuine reason which is having an impact on the wider fire engineering industry.”

The Construction Marketing Awards showcases the construction industry’s creativity, innovation and effectiveness in marketing for the built environment.

The awards raise the profile of marketing professionals and their achievements, and are supported by The Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG).
