Freshfield shortlisted for two categories at Prolific North Marketing awards 2024

Published by Niamh Heron,
PR and Content Marketing Executive at Freshfield

Freshfield has been shortlisted as a finalist for two categories at this year’s Prolific North Marketing Awards after a competitive judging process: Best B2B Marketing Campaign and Best Integrated Campaign.

Boost campaign launch

Freshfield, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, has been nominated for the Best B2B Marketing Campaign award for its work on the successful launch of the current, ongoing campaign for Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub.

As the procured marketing supplier since 2013, Freshfield has supported Boost in helping over 10,000 Lancashire businesses grow. Boost is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and involves ten local authorities and four delivery partners, including Freshfield as central marketing partner.

Freshfield’s role covers the full marketing and communications spectrum, covering strategy and planning, delivery partner and local authority engagement, PR and content marketing, social media management and partnership marketing. Freshfield also worked in partnership with Chorley digital agency, Bespoke to redevelop and launch a new website.

During the launch of Boost 5, the campaign resulted in:

  • 43 media placements
  • 25% increase in website traffic
  • 455 helpdesk enquiries
  • 181 newsletter sign-ups

Additionally, Freshfield also helped launch the Lancashire Festival of Business with Lancashire Business View, drawing in over 200 attendees and generating 28,500 social impressions and 29,800 email opens.

Preston Partnership relaunch

For the Best Integrated Campaign category, Freshfield has been nominated for our work on the relaunch of Preston Partnership following its restructure as a UKSPF-backed, private sector led placemaking organisation.

Tasked with rebranding and building awareness, Freshfield played a key role in helping Preston Partnership attract new members and increase engagement.

The campaign featured the development of new brand messaging and visual identity, a high-impact launch event to drive awareness and bi-monthly #InTheCity events to engage members.

Through a refreshed LinkedIn strategy, Preston Partnership created a hub for amplifying positive news around Preston’s regeneration, business and national accolades through ongoing newsjacking.

Since the re-launch began in late 2023, the campaign has resulted in:

  • 165 new members
  • 11 new strategic partners
  • 7% growth in LinkedIn following
  • 3,000 unique website visits
  • 20 highly relevant pieces of media coverage

Freshfield’s campaign further positioned Preston Partnership as a strategic partner of the newly formed Preston Regeneration Board (PRB), alongside key stakeholders such as Preston City Council, UCLan, and Lancashire County Council.

Simon Turner, CEO, Freshfield, said: “Being shortlisted for these awards is a true reflection of our team’s expertise and ability to consistently deliver results.

“At Freshfield, we are committed to remaining purpose-driven in everything that we do. While we have been able to help both Boost and Preston Partnership achieve their objectives, we’ve also had the privilege of working with and helping clients that are achieving impact in our local communities through doing so.

“Being recognised for our efforts through these award nominations has been really rewarding for the team and winning would be a cherry on the cake.”
