Our award-winning public sector PR team has significant experience of helping local authorities and partnerships market themselves and communicate more effectively with the communities they serve.
Our public sector PR expertise extends to government funded business support, regeneration programmes, local enterprise partnerships, skills bodies, place marketing and inward investment. We also have experience of delivering European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Social Fund (ESF) programmes.
Sectors we specialise in
Business support programmes
Our team has won multiple awards for its PR and marketing campaigns to promote business support programmes. Our experience includes providing a full PR and marketing service to Boost Business Lancashire; Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, one of the best performing Growth Hubs in the UK. Our work for Boost covers PR and marketing strategy, creation of marketing assets and the day to day delivery of the PR and communications programme, covering content, media, social and website.
We also have experience of representing access to finance and scale-up programmes. Our work, which often involves working in unison with central government, has given our public sector clients the foundations to achieve their goals. We also understand the administration complexities of managing public sector contracts and have all the required accreditations and policies in place.
We help local authorities manage the complex communications around town and city regeneration projects while showcasing the social, economic and environmental impact of such projects. We represent Preston City Council and Preston Partnership on its £200m Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme, which has been enabled by Preston’s £20.9m Town Deal. As part of the communications programme, we work to specific guidelines set out by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. In 2021, we launched the Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme with the unveiling of a new Wallace and Gromit bench by its creator Nick Park. This high-profile media launch secured worldwide media attention.
In addition to having a specialist Education and Skills team, we also work on government-funded education campaigns. In 2021, we were selected to be the marketing partner on the Department of Education-led Lancashire Local Skills Improvement Plan. Working with the three local Chambers of Commerce, the campaign is aimed at engaging with 10,000 Lancashire businesses to put employers at the heart of local technical skills provision.
Environment and sustainability
A subject close to our heart, we support local authorities and environmental bodies on campaigns to drive changes in behaviour across environmental and sustainability issues. Using the powers of our full-service PR and marketing proposition, our work aims to win hearts and minds of communities to drive change. One of our clients is Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAFs) and we have supported it on campaigns to promote home energy audits and the installation of electric car charging points.
Health and wellbeing
We have experience of supporting local authority care home departments and local health partnerships across a range of campaigns and initiatives in the healthcare sector.
Our team has a strong track record of working with local authority and place marketing boards to help position regions as places to invest. We have developed regional place marketing campaigns and have devised brand development strategies for Enterprise Zones. Our full-service marketing programmes play a key role in building relationships with the national and international investment community and our work has featured at major international property events, such as MIPIM.
Why we are passionate about these sectors
