Our brief

The NWAA asked Freshfield to launch the Northern Robotics Network at MediaCityUK to the regional, national and international media and partners.

What we delivered

Freshfield devised a multi-channel programme including live interviews throughout the launch day on BBC Breakfast, Sky News, BBC TV North West Tonight, Granada TV and BBC Radio 5Live.

To bring the event to life, Freshfield worked with engineers to programme a robot to welcome BBC Breakfast presenters to the launch of the Northern Robotics Network.

Simultaneously, the news was shared with the Press Association who issued the story to all other mainstream UK media, while the news was also shared on through the NWAA’s network and other owned channels.

In all, 51 items of broadcast and press coverage were seen by an audience of 38.2 million people and seven separate national broadcast announcements were made to major national TV and radio outlets.

The NWAA thanked Freshfield for helping to showcase the Northern Robotics Network and its opportunities for businesses, academia and those wishing to enter a career in this field.
