Russell Bolton Consulting is a niche project management, cost consultancy, property and construction advisory firm, based in the city of Manchester.

It was founded and is led by Russell Bolton and David Litherland. Russell and David have a combined experience of over 70 years, advising organisations such as Aviva Investors, Barclays CRE, Hilton Hotels, ITV Plc, Manchester Airports Group, Peel Holdings and Allied London.

The duo have played a key role on a range of regeneration projects that have transformed cities, towns and communities across the UK. Russell is the former managing partner of the Manchester and Liverpool office of Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), a global quantity surveyor, construction and property consultancy.

Our brief

The founders turned to Freshfield to help create and launch its new brand to the North West property and regeneration community.

What we delivered

Our strategic consultants and campaign team worked with the founders and leadership team to define their brand DNA and develop a brand narrative, identity and communications plan, focussing on its strength of capabilities, track record and service.

Following the roll out of the brand across all marketing and communications assets, our campaign team created and curated the launch across earned and owned media channels, as well as devising a people-to-people communications strategy.

Impact

The carefully orchestrated launch was broken on LinkedIn, enabling Russell and David to instantly communicate the news to their personal communities. This had an almost instant impact, with key contacts and partners commending the news and new brand, amplifying the launch content and, more importantly, engaging with Russell and David direct to set up meetings. The supporting coverage across business and property media channels spawned further emails and enquiries.
