The University of Central Lancashire is a leading educational hub in the city of Preston which has invested in new centres of excellence including an Engineering Innovation Centre to showcase its capability in diverse engineering fields to prospective and existing students.

Our brief

UCLan challenged Freshfield to maximise the investment in the development of the Engineering Innovation Centre with a communications strategy which would elevate its profile and appeal to students and academia alike.

What we delivered

Freshfield devised a multi-channel campaign of activity to help launch the university’s showpiece £35m Engineering Innovation Centre.

Our role included facilitating media visits around the building for the official launch, as well as creating a media briefing pack that combined images, business case studies and video rushes.

Impact

Media were invited to see the facilities of the new campus for themselves, resulting in broadcast coverage on BBC North West Tonight, BBC local radio, as well as widespread regional media coverage.

News content was also distributed highlighting the diverse nature of the centre as a world-class facility for study, research and development and innovation.
