Sherwin-Williams is one of the world’s largest paint and coatings manufacturers serving diverse sectors including infrastructure, the built environment, industrial and onshore and offshore oil and gas industries.

Our brief

Freshfield was briefed by the client to develop a thought leadership campaign to demonstrate the commitment of Sherwin-Williams in helping to create a safer built environment through the use of safe coatings protection.

What we delivered

We put together a programme designed for high impact including major articles for industry media, White Papers, comment, creation of events in Whitehall and a lobbying group involving other industry partners.

Impact

A thought leadership campaign created a group made up of built environment partners including the Royal Institution of British Architects (RIBA) and the Local Authority Building Control (LABC).

A series of feature articles in the name of the Sherwin-Williams’ experts were also placed in key industry trade publications, providing authority to the company reputation.

A report from the findings of the group was submitted to the Dame Judith Hackitt inquiry into the Grenfell tragedy and one of the senior engineers was asked to submit his findings based on this campaign.
