The world’s third largest paint and coatings manufacturer has chosen marketing communications consultancy Freshfield to deliver a media relations and content marketing programme to its markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Preston-based consultancy is focusing on profiling the work of the Energy and Civil Infrastructure arms of Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings EMEA division, which has its European headquarters in Bolton.

Sherwin-Williams is known for its paint and coatings projects worldwide including work on The Hollywood Sign for the city of Los Angeles, the Forth Rail Bridge and The Shard.

The team will be led by Freshfield’s Advanced Industries client director Paul Tustin and will support the division in its key sectors including oil and gas, fire safety engineering and rail.

Nick Ball, director of marketing for Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings EMEA Division, said: “We want to highlight our growing capability and technical expertise in this region, and Freshfield understood how we needed to communicate that.”

Paul Tustin of Freshfield, said: “We’re working closely with the team internally at Sherwin-Williams and focusing on the company’s knowledge, people and points of difference to bring the communications programme to life in these key markets.”

Freshfield is a full service marketing communications consultancy advising some of the UK’s leading organisations. It has specialist teams in the sectors of advanced industries, business and professional services, built environment, corporate and financial, education, healthcare, public sector, and retail and leisure.
