We’re a team passionate about property, placemaking and regeneration, helping support our clients deliver positive impact on places, communities and lives.
With over 40 years’ combined experience in built environment communications and marketing, Freshfield’s impact-driven property PR team is a trusted partner to a wide range of organisations including local authorities, developers, placemaking boards, professional firms and investors.
Sectors we specialise in
Architects and designers
We have a strong track record of helping clients create powerful architect PR and communications strategies, building awareness of their building design prowess while fostering meaningful relationships in the built environment eco-system.
Our client experience ranges from small boutique practices to large multi-office, RIBA award-winning firms. In addition to providing PR and communications programmes, we also work with owners and management teams to assist on business development and digital marketing strategies.
We also help architects create strong visual identities as well websites and marketing collateral. Much of the work we do for architects also boosts their employer brand, supporting architects’ staff recruitment and retention efforts. The Freshfield team also works with interior designers and consultants.
Development and construction
From long-term brand building campaigns to sales and marketing support for specific schemes and developments, Freshfield has extensive experience in construction PR, supporting developers, housebuilders, and construction companies.
We work with our clients to promote their delivery of major regeneration projects such as offices, business parks, sports and leisure facilities, city centre apartments, purpose-built student accommodation and other residential schemes.
We also help our clients in the property sector to manage the more complex and contentious issues related to development, including planning issues, public consultation exercises, site issues and stakeholder management.
As a purpose-led business, Freshfield actively works with developers in helping them position their environment and sustainability and their other social value credentials, a growing consideration in the built environment sector.
We provide a range of services to developers and constructors from ongoing PR and communications programmes, brand identity and websites to digital marketing campaigns.
Attracting inward investment from funders, developers and major employers is a huge undertaking which requires strong partnerships and the creation of a compelling place narrative.
Freshfield has experience of working with local authorities on creating marketing and communications strategies for major inward investment campaigns and placemaking projects. We’ve worked with partners including Lancashire County Council, Preston City Council and Marketing Lancashire.
Our work includes the creation of the name and visual identity for Lancashire’s Enterprise Zones. This complex project included consultation across multiple local political parties, placemaking boards and some of the region’s largest employers to develop the final strategy.
We followed a similar strategic path to create the Invest Central Lancashire brand, which is the external verbal and visual identity for Lancashire’s £434m City Deal project. This was launched to the North West’s placemaking community at a major event.
Our property PR team has worked with several planning consultancies, helping them to better define their proposition and connect them with their audiences.
From creating brand identities and new websites to ongoing PR and communications support, this work has helped planners to better showcase their expertise to the property development community.
Effective PR for planning consultants can also create a positive environment for clients to navigate the planning process. In this area, we have helped planning consultancy clients with public consultation exercises on behalf of their clients.
The successful regeneration of public spaces, communities and city neighbourhoods can only be achieved by putting people at the heart of the process and bringing all stakeholders together.
Effective communication between communities, decisions makers, developers, professionals, funders, and others is therefore vital to achieving placemaking ambitions.
Freshfield has a proven track record of working alongside local authorities, placemaking boards, and developers on managing the communications around significant town and city placemaking and regeneration projects.
Examples include our work with Preston City Council and Preston Partnership on the Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme, which aims to unlock £200m worth of regeneration projects in the city’s civic and cultural quarter. We also helped UCLan manage PR and communications activity around its £200m masterplan project which included new campus buildings and the city’s first new public square in over 70 years. We also played a significant role in the regeneration of Preston’s Georgian-era Winckley Square Gardens which underwent a £1.2m restoration with Heritage Lottery Funding.
Through our work with both developers and registered housing providers, we have built up a detailed understanding of the intricacies of the social housing arena.
We can help housing providers in many areas, including press office support, issues management, crisis communications consultancy, PR and media relations, branding and design, and content creation.
Surveyors and other consultants
As a property marketing agency we have provided communication and marketing support to almost every type of building consultant. This includes surveyors, cost consultants, building engineers, acoustics consultants, building safety consultants, and fit out companies.
What many of these businesses have in common is that they work on outstanding projects and don’t always get the recognition they deserve because of their position in the building supply chain.
We help them tell powerful brand stories to engage with clients, prospective clients, and the wider property community. This work also helps them demonstrate to their own people the true impact of their work.
Why we are passionate about these sectors
Working in partnership with clients in these sectors allows us to see first-hand the positive social, economic and environmental impact regeneration has on communities and lives. Seeing a regeneration project complete and the joy on people’s faces gives us a smile.
