Freshfield raises £600 for Luv Preston
Winter walkers from Freshfield have raised £600 for Preston charity, Luv Preston, during a December walking from home challenge.
The Freshfield team collectively walked 450 miles while working from home in December to help the charity run essential drop-in centres and provide food parcels during the winter.
Luv Preston is a charity run by Susan and Jack McVicar which aims to love and serve the city of Preston by providing care and support to those who find themselves disadvantaged and disconnected in the community.
The charity provides essential services including a homeless drop-in at St Wilfrid’s Community Centre, just off Winckley Square in Preston and the running of a food bank and provision of food parcels across the city.
Jack McVicar, founder of Luv Preston, said: “We are so grateful all the team at Freshfield for their generosity and commitment to helping us to help the disadvantaged in Preston.
“2020 has been a tough year for all but especially tough for those who already were struggling before the pandemic. Thanks to companies like Freshfield we have managed to make it a little more bearable for many families this Christmas.”
Simon Turner, our Chief Executive, said: “It’s such a difficult time for many communities so it’s gratifying to see the Freshfield team come together to make a worthwhile contribution. There are so many companies doing so much to help their communities in 2020, we must all continue to do our bit.”
