We’re midway through another exciting Premier League football season and the race to be crowned Freshfield’s 2025 fantasy football champion is well and truly on.

While Liverpool look like favourites to win the title in the real world as things stand, there are a number of teams vying for victory in our official Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini league.

With 20 of 38 matches completed, former winner Alex Walmsley (Harrison Drury) is currently in top spot with a huge 1,344 points, followed closely by Graeme Thorpe (PWA Planning) and Jacqueline Ballard (Freshfield). Last season’s champion Daniel Boulton (WHN Solicitors) also remains in contention.

Our annual ‘Serie F Lega’ FPL mini-league is open to clients, colleagues, professional partners and others in the Freshfield community and sees the winner receive a £250 donation to a charity of their choice.

Last year, Daniel selected Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone to benefit from his FPL heroics, while other charities supported in previous years include Rosemere Cancer Foundation, The Trussel Trust, Jacob’s Join and Baby Beat.

Sally French, Freshfield’s social value lead, said: “Our fantasy football league is now in its fifth season, and we’ve had some fantastic local charities benefiting from people’s love of the game.

“Judging by the Freshfield FPL contingent, it’s going to be a serious second half of the season and we’re looking forward to crowning another champion and making another donation once the league is decided in May. We wish the best of luck to all our players.”
